Projects

These are some of the projects that I worked on during my Master’s and Undergraduate degrees:

Optical Frequency Shifting Using Silicon Photonic MZMs for LiDAR Signal Generation, Master’s Thesis.
  • Optical frequency shifting is needed in FMCW LiDAR.
  • Devised a technique using dual-parallel dual-drive Mach-zehnder modulators to shift the optical frequency of a carrier wave electronically by single sideband suppressed carrier signal.
  • Results show a significant carrier, lower order sideband and higher order sideband suppression.
Results using dual-parallel dual-drive MZM (DP DD-MZM) for single sideband suppressed carrier (SSB-SC) generation at fm = 5 GHz and fc = 193414 GHz (1550 nm)
Distributed Laser Charging, Final Year Project – Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Far field wireless power transmission methodology that incorporated two sub-projects in it i.e. Power transmission and real time tracking of the receiver.
  • Used micro-controller, sensors and image processing to track the receiver and maintain line of sight.
8-bit Shift Register VLSI Design
  • Designed transistor level schematic and CMOS circuit layout of 8-bit shift register on Cadence.
Football Kick Analyzer using Signal Processing, Digital Signal Processing
  • Wearable device that analyzed parameters and performance of football player’s hit of the ball.
  • Used sensors to record raw data and processed on micro-controller in real time.
Low Pass Filter Hardware Implementation, Microwave Engineering
  • Designed and implemented an equal-ripple low pass filter using micro-strip transmission-line.
  • Simulated on ADS and fabricated on PCB through etching.
